European Forum on Restorative Justice - International Conference

The European Forum on Restorative Justice, with whom the IIRP has acooperative alliance, will hold its fourth biennial internationalconference, "Restorative Justice and Beyond: An Agenda for Europe," inBarcelona, Spain, on June 15-17, 2006.
The conference intends to broaden the perspective on restorative justice while retaining the coretopic of justice, exploring what lies beyond the "classical"application of restorative justice.The conference will cover five major themes:
- Restorative justice, peace-making and peace-building
- Community mediation, working towards justice in a broad sense, beyondthe intervention of criminal law agencies
- Dealing with more severe crimes in a restorative way: exploring theplace for restorative justice programs that are not restricted topre-trial diversion of petty offenses
- The school mediation movement, employing the same principles asrestorative justice
- Good practice for restorative justice
